The high-definition, 11.6-inch CineCrystal LED backlit widescreen display (16:9 ratio) offers 33 percent more energy savings than traditional notebook screens. A Multi-Gesture Touchpad enables you to pinch, flick and swirl your fingers across the touchpad for more natural photo and video viewing as well as intuitive navigation of websites. I chose this Acer 11.6 inch laptop over a netbook, because I wanted a small, lightweight form factor, but with real computing power, so I could do more than just surf the net.
Pros:
Lightweight, vey portable.
Intel Core 2 Duo processor much more powerful than Atom processors in netbooks.
Plenty of RAM and large hard drive for an ultralight.
Crisp, sharp display; 1366 X 768 resolution provides nice coverage without too much scrolling.
Wireless range is good (using 802.11g, haven’t tried Draft-N yet).
Comfortably-sized keyboard for such a small laptop.
Touchpad is smooth and accurate; multi-touch takes some getting used to.
Battery life is excellent! (I haven’t tested it for 8 hours straight, but using it periodically throughout the day, I think it would come close. Laptop Magazine’s test indicated 8 hrs, 45 min. on their standard battery test.
Plenty of ports – 3 USB, HDMI!!, multi-card reader.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit; I like this OS much better than Vista.
Cons:
Bottom left side gets fairly warm, but I can use it directly on my lap without any discomfort.
Not really a con, but something to be aware of: no optical drive; but that shouldn’t be expected in an ultralight like this. I bought an external USB DVD drive which works fine when I need one.

I’ve had this laptop for about a month now, with no issues (hardware or software). That means I also haven’t needed to use Acer’s technical support, so I can’t comment on that.
I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for an ultrportable with more computing power than a netbook.
