Bought this laptop few weeks back and have been having wireless issues since then. After doing some research on the net, I found out the many folks are facing the same issue with this laptop.
I called Lenovo customer service a week back and the tech support person told me that Lenovo shipped two softwares that interact with wireless adapter and they both are competing against each other. He asked me to uninstall ReadyComm software and after that it worked fine for couple of days.
Again, I started loosing internet connection even while I am surfing. I made another call and this time a lady (seems to have identified my problem immediately) gave me few more steps and said she is certain it will fix the issue. Even though I uninstalled ReadyComm software, the wireless adapter has cached this info and it is meddling with the connection all the time. I found it reasonable explanation.
Here are the steps if anybody is facing similar issue:
1. Uninstall Ready Comm software
2. Delete ALL network profiles (Network and Sharing Center -> Manage Wireless Networks -> Select Network, right click and remove)
3. Uninstall wireless network adapter (Device Manager -> Network Adapters -> WiFi -> Right click and Uninstall)
(In popup menu, Keep it unchecked - for removing the software. You need the software)
4. Run cmd as administrator and type
netsh winsock reset
5. Reboot
6. Let system install wireless driver
7. Setup your wireless connection again.
Apart from this issue, the laptop seems to be fine. First couple of weeks it never got hot but of late I have noticed that it is getting hot after couple of hours of use.
